What is the Sun Cobalt? RaQ server appliance?

The Sun RaQ is a server appliance for Internet Service Providers (ISPs). It can host up to 200 individual websites or it can be dedicated to a single medium or large customer. This versatility opens up tremendous opportunity for service provider to invest in a single piece of hardware while migrating business customers up to dedicated servers.

At a single-rack unit high and with minimal power requirements (50 watts), Sun RaQ server appliances can be stacked 40 high in a standard 19-inch rack enclosure. In fact, they can be pre-installed. All hardware and software configuration is remote, so when a client requests new service, the new site can be configured on the fly through a standard browser. All you'll need is credit approval. That includes eCommerce sites. The Sun RaQ server appliance includes: root access, FTP, Web, email and virtual domain support.

You can download all the Cobalt RAQ Restore CDs from Sun Microsystems.

They are available in .ISO format. You will need to use a cdrom burning utility that supports .ISO such as Nero or NTI. There are add-ons for Windows XP that support it such as ISORecorder [1] (http://isorecorder.alexfeinman.com/isorecorder.htm) which is free.
